leap for liver?

so…i don’t think bruno really likes the taste of liver. which is surprising, because he loves the taste of everything from grass, to dirt, to paper. he’s definitely had liver treats before – the little bits you can buy in packages at petsmart – but i guess he’s never had real / fresh liver? even though bruno wasn’t a fan of these, i’ll still post this recipe, as the author of real food for dogs says her dog goes crazy for them. maybe your dog will too?


  • 1 pounds sliced beef liver
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 small box corn muffin mix

In a food processor, blend the liver and water until liquefied. Pour the corn muffin mix into a large bowl. Add the liver liquid and mix thoroughly. Spray a 8 1/2 x 11 inch baking pan with non stick spray and pour the liver mix into the pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and cut into small cubes. Store the cubes in the freezer for future use.
